A Thank You from Mayor Euline Brock for putting out flags on 9/11/2002 "Fellow Rotarians and dear friends, Thank You so very much for adding
to our day of Remembrance observance by putting out the flags especially for
today- The square looked beautiful, and the flags gave special significance
to what happened. I later heard people expressing their gratitude for
having the flags in their neighborhoods today. What a wonderful service to
the whole community |

The 42 volunteers from the Rotary Club of Denton-South that give up their weekends and holidays so you may have a flag in your yard, provide for the needy and promote international understanding all at the same time. We place a 3x5' American flag on a 10' pole in your yard on five national holidays and additional time on Presidential election years. They are picked up at the end of the holiday, culled of the ones needing replacement and stored until they are needed again. You are invited to join your 800+ neighbors and participate in our flag program. Your tax deductible donation of $40.00 covers all the holidays in the current calendar year and is used to benefit many local as well as international charities. |

Dear President Brewer: I just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful
display of American flags on the square. You and the volunteers worked
hard to install the stands and flags and I want you to know that your efforts
are truly appreciated. The sight of all those flags on both sides of

the work you do to display and maintain the American Flags on and around the We understand that Sept 11th is not designated in our agreement as a day the flags would normally be displayed. We also know and understand that Sept. 11th will never again be a normal day. The placement of flags around the square added a most appropriate touch to the remembrance services held on the Courthouse lawn. We have had a positive response to the display and know that everyone who visits downtown will be touched to see our patriotism and solidarity. Many have inquired about how their area or organization can become involved in a display such as ours. We look forward to continuing our commitment to this program. Thanks again. Robb Bertelsen
